The Lighthouse Lagoon

The Lighthouse Lagoon, a nautical themed mini golf course with a 65 foot lighthouse and sidewalk are planned for 700 N Ocean Blvd in Myrtle Beach.  It will be located by the mile long boardwalk between 1st and 14th avenues.  It will also include flower beds along Ocean Blvd, 3 three story waterfalls and will be the Strands first oceanfront mini golf course.

Boardwalk Web Cam

The City of Myrtle Beach installed two Web cameras to show viewers the area where the new boardwalk will be.  They are looking south from the 14th Avenue Pier & north and south from Plyer Park.

North Myrtle Beach Connector Bridge Opens

A dedication ceremony September 3 will open the long awaited North Myrtle Beach connector bridge.  The parkway will go from Main Street in NMB, cross US 17 and the Intracoastal Waterway, and link with SC 31 & SC 90.  Started in 2005 the new road will reduce congestion on US 17 and travel time to SC31, the Carolina Bays Parkway.

USA Triathlon Selects Myrtle Beach as Site of 2010 Multisport Festival

The USA Triathlon has selected Myrtle Beach as the site of the 2010 USA Triathlon National Championship Festival.  The event is scheduled for Saturday November 6, 2010.  This first national championship held by an Olympic governing body in the Myrtle Beach area is expected to attract between 2,000 -3,000 athletes and several thousand spectators.
The multisport festival will consist of three separate races--USAT Long Course Triathlon National Championship, USAT Club National Championship and Myrtle Beach Sprint Triathlon --as well as the Multisport Festival & Expo.  The Long Course Triathlon requires all athletes to qualify to compete.  The Club and Sprint events are open to any athlete.
